Brooks Olbrys, author of The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob, did not plan to write a children’s book, let alone a rhyming picture book series. But his personal interest in the philosophies of success combined with his experience reading picture books to his young son led him to a novel idea. He should translate the timeless principles of achievement as taught by authors such as Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale and Bob Proctor into a fun, character-driven, rhyming picture book series that would also communicate a positive message for protecting our oceans and sea life. When recent tornadoes destroyed 262 classrooms leaving almost 13,000 students without supplies or books in Joplin, Missouri, Brooks Olbrys stepped forward to help.
