Press Release
Manhattan Investment Banker Teaches the Principles of Achievement and Inspires Ocean Awareness…
11.17.10, 10:02 AM ET

NEW YORK, Nov. 17, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — “Why would a New York lawyer and investment banker write a children’s book?”

Brooks Olbrys, author of The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob, did not plan to write a children’s book, let alone a rhyming picture book series. But his personal interest in the philosophies of success combined with his experience reading picture books to his young son led him to a novel idea. He should translate the timeless principles of achievement as taught by authors such as Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale and Bob Proctor into a fun, character-driven, rhyming picture book series that would also communicate a positive message for protecting our oceans and sea life. So, he created a series where a young island boy, Blue Ocean Bob, learns these valuable lessons from the sea creatures and an old, wise turtle named “Doc” in particular.

One year ago, Brooks presented his idea to best-selling author and personal development expert Bob Proctor at an event celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Napoleon Hill’s prosperity classic, Think and Grow Rich. Bob surprised Brooks when he replied, “That is a great idea. You have all the information and a 5-year old son to inspire you. Why don’t you do it?”

Brooks accepted the challenge and the result is Blue Ocean Bob Discovers His Purpose, illustrated by Aleksandra Beaucher. Written as a ten-volume series, the stories reveal lessons on purpose, vision, goals, attitude, persistence, confidence, communication, gratitude, responsibility and success as Blue Ocean Bob grows into the Island of Roses’ newest marine biologist.

As Brian Biro, author of Beyond Success, writes, “Your children will love these delightful stories and the simple but profound principles they reveal will be with them for a lifetime!”

Blue Ocean Bob Discovers His Purpose, a companion memory-card game, an online memory game, and more information on the series are available at http://www.blueoceanbob.com.

Brooks Olbrys is a graduate of Stanford University, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts and UC-Berkeley’s Law School. He is a partner at investment bank Ion Partners in New York.

Originally from Poland, Aleksandra Beaucher began her professional art career in 2007 as a painter and portrait artist. Blue Ocean Bob Discovers His Purpose is Aleksandra’s debut as a children’s picture book illustrator.

New Children’s Picture Book Teaches the Principles of Success from Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale and Bob Proctor

By: PR Newswire

NEW YORK, Nov. 17, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — “Why can’t the principles for success in life be incorporated into children’s picture books?”

If you know anything about those principles, you know “can’t” is not an option.

In The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob (Vol.1): Blue Ocean Bob Discovers His Purpose (illustrated by Aleksandra Beaucher), Brooks Olbrys, a Manhattan lawyer and investment banker, introduces us to Blue Ocean Bob, a courageous island boy who embarks upon a quest to discover his purpose and much more. Accompanied by Xena, an overly cautious hummingbird, Bob asks the sea creatures to share their secrets to contentment with him. With the help of Al the dolphin and Doc, an elderly turtle, Bob discovers his passion and realizes his purpose to protect the sea and all life within it.

In later volumes in this rhyming picture book series, Blue Ocean Bob learns about the importance of vision, goals, attitude, persistence, confidence, communication, gratitude, and responsibility in carrying out his duties on the Island of Roses. In the final volume, Blue Ocean Bob learns the meaning of success – progressively becoming the marine biologist he yearns to be.

Bob Proctor, personal development expert and best-selling author of You Were Born Rich, writes: “Brooks Olbrys has done a remarkable job. Blue Ocean Bob provides young minds with positive precepts and powerful lessons that will serve them for the rest of their lives.”

Brian Biro, author of Beyond Success, writes: “Your children will love these delightful stories and the simple but profound principles they reveal will be with them for a lifetime!”

Blue Ocean Bob Discovers His Purpose, a companion memory card game, an online memory game, and more information on the series are available at http://www.blueoceanbob.com.

Blue Ocean Bob Picture Books Bring Message of Hope to Children of Tornado Ravaged Joplin, MO
Author Brooks Olbrys Joins Operation Disaster Relief to Aid Joplin, MO

(PRWEB) July 14, 2011

When recent tornadoes destroyed 262 classrooms leaving almost 13,000 students without supplies or books in Joplin, Missouri, Brooks Olbrys stepped forward to help. As the author of the new children’s book THE ADVENTURES OF BLUE OCEAN BOB: Blue Ocean Bob Discovers His Purpose (August 2011) and CEO of Children’s Success Unlimited, Olbrys is donating more than 200 books and memory card games to help victims of the disaster.

“I was contacted by Cynthia Brian, host of the popular radio program, Starstyle®-Be the Star You Are!® to donate resources to help Operation Disaster Relief for Joplin, Missouri,” says Olbrys. “I was happy to be able to help the children and teachers of Joplin in a small way with Blue Ocean Bob books, memory cards and goal cards. Blue Ocean Bob can help young people discover what they’d love to do in life and focus them on their bright futures.”

When the Joplin Access Family Clinic asked for books for their patients, Brooks again offered to send books and memory cards. “Blue Ocean Bob is one of those books that adults and children will enjoy together. It is so beautifully written and illustrated that it is sure to be a classic. Be the Star You Are!® is so grateful to Brooks. We became friends when he was a guest on our radio show back in 2010. He will be a guest again on August 11 and we can’t wait to share his newest stories,” states Cynthia Brian.

Olbrys was one of the first authors to jump on board to ship his colorful and inspirational book, relayed in rhyming verse, for ages pre-school to Grade 3. Blue Ocean Bob Discovers His Purpose is the first in a series of children’s books that follows the adventures of Blue Ocean Bob as he realizes his passion and discovers his purpose—to protect the sea and all life within it.

Olbrys became intrigued by the philosophies of success in high school, but his interest in the subject was truly ignited when he began to study the work of Bob Proctor, a best-selling author and motivational speaker who helps individuals understand their hidden abilities to do more, be more and have more in every area of life. After the birth of his son, Brooks became inspired to make these principles more accessible to children. Brooks holds a BA and MA from Stanford University, an MALD from the Fletcher School at Tufts and a JD from UC Berkeley. This is his first picture book for children.

New Picture Book Inspires Children to Pursue Their Passions and Follow Their Dreams

The Adventures Of Blue Ocean Bob: Blue Ocean Bob Discovers His Purpose – written by Brooks Olbrys and illustrated by Aleksandra Beaucher.

(PRWEB) August 01, 2011

Despite his idyllic island life, young Bob yearns for a greater sense of purpose. Accompanied by his friend Xena, an overly cautious hummingbird, he sets out to ask the happy sea creatures to share their wisdom with him. His quest leads him first to Al, a playful and spirited dolphin, and then to the local sage, an old turtle named ‘Doc’ who advises Bob:

“We’ve just met, but my instincts are sound, and the answer you seek is quite easily found. As Al may have told you, you have it within. Discover your passion, then simply jump in. Decide what you love, what excites and inspires – then make that your purpose and watch what transpires.”

Thus begins Brooks Olbrys’ heart-warming and colorful new children’s book series, The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob, inspired the success philosophies of Bob Proctor, Napoleon Hill and others. Children will thrill to Bob’s maritime adventures while gleaning valuable life lessons from this endearing new hero as he discovers his true purpose – to protect the sea, and all life within it.
