The Blue Ocean Bob Philosophy

The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob is a children’s book series for pre-school children through readers in the early grades (K-4th grade).  Toddlers will appreciate the colorful illustrations and enjoy listening to the rhyming stories while young readers will also absorb the subtle positive lessons that the stories reveal.

Our mission is to empower children to succeed by permitting them to pursue their passions.

This mission is supported by the introduction to children, through Blue Ocean Bob’s maritime adventures, of timeless principles of achievement.  The stories, and the messages they contain, are inspired by the work of outstanding individuals who have spent their lives researching and teaching these principles, including Wallace D. Wattles, Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale and, for the past fifty years, Bob Proctor.  While many of the principles in The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob may appear basic or widely accepted, they are often not taught to children as part of a regular school curriculum.  Napoleon Hill aptly wrote (with W. Clement Stone in Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude) that principles, once learned, become a part of us and can therefore be applied to new situations; such principles do not become obsolete as do all facts in a changing society.

We hope that the Blue Ocean Bob books and products are fun, colorful and inspiring while they also provide children with a framework for success in any endeavor they choose to pursue.  In addition, we hope the Blue Ocean Bob characters and stories will develop an appreciation and respect for our oceans and sea life in children from an early age.

The Adventures of Blue Ocean Bob Series

In Volume One, Blue Ocean Bob Discovers His Purpose, young Bob yearns for a greater sense of purpose.  Accompanied by his friend Xena, an overly cautious hummingbird, he sets out to ask the happy sea creatures to share their wisdom with him.  His quest leads him first to Al, a playful and spirited dolphin, and then to the local sage, an old turtle named ‘Doc,’ who finally helps Bob to realize his passion and discover his purpose – to protect the sea, and all life within it.

Volumes Two through Five take Blue Ocean Bob from (1) discovering his purpose to be a marine biologist to (2) developing a vision for getting there (find a mentor) to (3) setting a goal to be hired as an assistant to Mary Marine to (4) appreciating the role of a positive attitude in pursuing his goal to (5) learning about the importance of persistence in reaching it (and getting hired by Mary).

In Volumes Six through Nine, Blue Ocean Bob builds confidence, learns about the power of communication, discovers the power of gratitude, and takes responsibility for his actions – all valuable concepts that permit him to more effectively do his job and serve the sea creatures he loves.  In Volume Ten, Blue Ocean Bob learns the true meaning of success (as inspired by Earl Nightingale’s definition of success as “the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.”)
